Female Students to visit DARC Amateur Radio Center

Seven young women will spend a day at the DARC Amateur Radio Center in Baunatal on Thursday, April 28, to gain insights into the profession of engineer

The aim is to encourage more students to pursue STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Werner Vollmer, DF8XO, will give the students an insight into the world of amateur radio. Construction projects and radio operations are also on the program.

The DARC e.V. has been taking part in this nationwide action day for many years, in which companies and universities throughout Germany open their doors to female students.

Under the motto "From radio amateur to engineer", DARC e.V. is committed to introducing young people to technology and promoting basic physical and mathematical understandings. In numerous training courses in Germany, the newcomers are prepared for the amateur radio examination at the Federal Network Agency.
