I don’t have a digital radio at the moment, is there any other way I can listen to the ICQPodcast talk Group?
The short answer is yes, there is a mobile phone app that allows you to listen and take part in QSO’s in many digital modes.
I’m having trouble connecting to the BrandMeister network, it keeps asking for a password.
This is a security measure within BrandMeisters. You need to register your ID in the BrandMeisters dashboard on the web with a password.
Some countries have not implemented this, but will so within the next few months.

There is very little difference between a repeater and a hotspot. The only differences between the two are power and distance.

How can I get help setting up my digital radio or hotspot?
That's because you are trying to connect to a Wires-X gateway. At the moment our bridge only accepts Yaesu Fusion (YSF). Most Hotspots and some none Yaesu repeaters work with YSF.
WHEN I TRY AND CONNECT THROUGH YAESU SYSTEM FUSION I JUST GET AN 'OFFLINE' MESSAGE. I'VE TRIED A FEW TIMES THROUGH
DIFFERENT NODES.
This is because you are connecting to DMR Network via the ICQPodcast Bridge without a DMR ID. For none DMR modes to connect through the bridge without your own ID we allocate the ID: W9ICQ.
WHEN I CHECK MY CONNECTION TO THE ICQPODCAST BRIDGE I DON’T SEE MY CALL SIGN. INSTEAD, I SEE W9ICQ.
If we have done our job correctly, you should not be able to tell which mode another user is using.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A DMR ID OF MY OWN?
If you run a hotspot with Pi-Star software and it’s connected permanently to the internet, updates happen automatically.
If you disconnect your hotspot on the competition of your operating session, you will need to run updates from within Pi-star. Your hotspot needs to be regularly updated to make sure you have the latest configuration. Updating is the most likely fix to strange problems you may have.
UPDATING HOTSPOTS RUNNING PI-STAR
MMDVM boards often need adjusting for the correct Transmit and Receive Frequency. This is done in the Pi-Star configuration software. You will find these settings in Admin, Configuration, Expert, MMDVM Host. Scroll down to the modem section and make a note of the values in RXDCOffset and TXDCOffset. These can be changed, to improve your packet Loss and Bit Error Rate. You may find recommended values on a label on the MMDVM Board.
Please do this while connected to a Parrot if possible, to cause as little interference as possible.
