FMH Portable Operations Challenge allows 'Patio Portable'
/While considering the fact that amateurs in several parts of the world find themselves in lock-down for COVID-19, the steering committee of the upcoming international Fox Mike Hotel Portable Operations Challenge on October 3rd & 4th wish to make it clear that operation as a portable station from your backyard, garden or indeed patio, using the equipment that you would otherwise have taken portable for the challenge, is allowed and will be included in the portable station classification of the contest.
No existing home radio infrastructure may be used - so the operator will need to set up the equipment he or she would have been using portable in a park, on a mountain or wherever, in their garden, on their patio etc. during the challenge weekend and may not attach it to in-place home antenna systems.
The only permanent home infrastructure that can be used is mains electric power - everything else must be set-up new on the patio / in the garden.
The call sign will be the home call sign with no "/P" suffix but the station class given in the exchange must be given as P.
The latest versions of VK Contest logger and N1MM+ support the POC contest exchange.
