Jersey Based GB7JI Joins the D-STAR Repeater Network

The Jersey Amateur Radio Repeater Group has recently set up a new D-STAR repeater based in Jersey, just north of St Helier.

The D-STAR repeater will mainly serve Jersey but should also provide coverage for the Channel Islands and adjacent French coast. GB7JI D-STAR Repeater is connected to the gateway and the internet.

  • TX Freq 430.850

  • RX Freq 438.450


60th Year for GB3VHF

The 2m beacon GB3VHF will start its 60th year of operation in December. Located at Fairseat on the North Downs in Kent, the beacon is on 144.430MHz at a height of 205m ASL. It provides a propagation monitoring source that can reach across several countries.

A small band of radio amateurs have reinstated the repeaters at the RAF Stenigot site in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The repeaters are MB7PA 6 Mtr parrot repeater, GB3LC 70cms Analogue Repeater and GB7JM MMDVM repeater, which is currently active on modes DMR and DSTAR.

Stenigot is approximately 500mtrs ASL and therefore has a very wide RF footprint, the repeater site is approximately 100mtrs from the chain home radar tower.
