Attendance Figures Released for Ham Radio 2025

The allure of amateur radio brings together people of all ages and from around the world: From 27-29 June 2025, 11,600 radio enthusiasts from 52 countries flocked to Friedrichshafen to explore technology trends and exchange ideas in person. The nationwide project initiated by the non-profit partner German Amateur Radio Club (DARC) was officially launched under the trade fair theme of “Remote Radio – Connecting the World.”

Each year, Ham Radio attracts a diverse, international, and technically skilled audience to our exhibition halls. This underscores its status as Europe’s largest amateur radio trade fair and the excellence of our supporting program in partnership with DARC,
— Klaus Wellmann, Messe Friedrichshafen CEO

After the opening event and a tour of the exhibition halls, the Mayor of the City of Friedrichshafen, Andreas Hein, was also impressed by the diverse array of nationalities that found their way to Lake Constance for the Ham Radio event.

RSGB 2025 Convention

The RSGB is delighted to announce that its 2025 Convention will take place from 10-12 October at Kents Hill Conference Centre in Milton Keynes.

Whether you want to discover something new, learn more about an aspect of amateur radio, or progress and develop your skills, you’ll find something at the RSGB 2025 Convention to explore and enjoy.

The Society is giving you the chance to help shape this year’s programme by suggesting a presentation, a topic, a practical session or a project.

Are you involved in some new research or an interesting project that will take amateur radio to new audiences? Have you helped to make amateur radio more accessible to people with different abilities? Or have you heard a brilliant speaker who has inspired you? Get involved by sending your proposals to convention@rsgb.org.uk

Zero Retries Newsletter Hosting Inaugural Conference

In the latest instance of a newsletter, publication or blog hosting a convention or meeting, the Zero Retries Digital Conference will take place later this year organised by the newletter of the same name. This gives the digital and experimental side of things a louder voice. Those attending can expect to hear about the IP400 Networking Project, and see demonstrations of the M17 Digital Voice/Data system and the MMDVM-TNC data system. Conference manager Tina Stroh KD7WSF expects to put out requests for presenters very soon and will make a sign-up sheet available online.

The conference will be held on the 13th of September at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center in Everett, Washington.

The Hansen conference center will be transformed into a kind of epicenter of digital innovation at that time. The Zero Retries conference is taking place just as GRCon 2025 wraps up. GRCon is the annual conference for the GNU Radio project and community, That conference runs from Monday September 8th through to Friday September 12th. Although the two events share the same venue, they are not connected to one another.
