Bicycle Mobile Competition at Ham Radio Event

A 144 MHz bicycle mobile competition will take place during this year's DNAT amateur radio event

It will not have escaped anyone's attention that from 25-28 August 2022 the German Dutch Amateur Radio Days (DNAT) event will be organized again. But do you also know that the organization is once again offering a bicycle mobile competition this year?

This special competition starts on Saturday 27th August 2022 at 10:30 am. The place of departure is the DNAT campsite "Am Badepark". All additional information such as the rules, questions to be answered, proposed route and log sheets can be found - https://dnat.de/mobilcontest/

So take your bike to Bad Bentheim to participate in this bicycle mobile contest. And that may well be a bit more modern than in the photo with this article. During this competition we only work on the 2 meter band. Fortunately, there are no long-wire antennas between bicycles to fear.

QSO Expo Returns for Autumn 2022 Show

The QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo returns to your computer screen or smartphone on 17 and 18th September 2022. This full featured virtual ham radio convention includes: superior speakers and presentations; fully interactive video lounges for real eyeball QSOs; an exhibit hall full of our favorite vendors and organizations; and now a new poster gallery hall that includes a product showcase and interactive projects submitted by amateurs.

The Kumospace lounges were a fantastic edition to the Expo last March and were full of hams and conversation during the entire Expo weekend. Kumospace has added some new enhancements that will create intimate audio spaces for private and semi-private conversations in our lounges. We know this will be a winner with everyone who comes to the Expo.
— Eric Guth, 4Z1UG, founder of the QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo

The Expo will feature a new Poster Gallery that will include: a Product Showcase as a way for vendors who may or may not have a booth to demonstrate individual products through videos; white papers; and slides. Each showcase is fully interactive through text chat and can be use as a source of sales lead reports after the Expo.

The Poster Gallery will also include an opportunity for individuals to submit papers, projects, and articles to be enjoyed by Expo delegates. Accepted gallery submission will include a free ticket to the expo.

The vFairs and Kumospace technologies are now supported by apps for Apple and Android. Expo personnel still recommend a fast internet connection and big screens for the best user experience.

While the QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo was originally created in August 2020 to replace all of the cancelled ham radio conventions due to the Covid19 Pandemic, it has evolved into one of the most important resources for amateur radio learning through peer submitted presentations on every amateur radio subject, lively discussion, and opportunities to extend ham radio learning.
